PAGASA said heavy rains, strong winds, and storm surge may still occur outside the landfall point. The track may shift within the forecast cone, and communities in high-risk and coastal areas are urged to evacuate when advised.
Typhoon Tino earlier made landfall in Borbon, Cebu and Sagay City, Negros Occidental. It is expected to cross the Visayas and northern Palawan and emerge over the West Philippine Sea by Wednesday morning. The typhoon is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by late Wednesday or early Thursday.
Tino may weaken slightly due to land interaction but will remain a typhoon while crossing land, PAGASA added.
Disaster officials urged the public to monitor warnings and coordinate with local authorities.
