Viral TikTok musician d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has been arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a teenage girl, authorities confirmed.
The 21-year-old artist was taken into custody on April 16, and is currently being held without bail as investigators prepare to present the case to prosecutors for possible charges.
The arrest stems from a months-long investigation following the discovery of the decomposed and dismembered remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez inside a Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle had been abandoned and towed from the Hollywood Hills in September 2025 after reports of a foul odor.
Authorities said the victim had been missing since 2024 after she reportedly told family members she was going out to meet Burke. A medical examiner determined that the body had been in the vehicle for an extended period before it was found.
Burke rose to fame in 2022 through TikTok, with his breakout hit “Romantic Homicide” gaining massive global streams. His rising career was disrupted after the case surfaced, leading to the cancellation of his tour and increased public scrutiny.
Despite the arrest, the singer’s legal team maintains his innocence, emphasizing that no formal charges or indictment have yet been filed.
The investigation remains ongoing.
