The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed that three Filipino overseas workers have been detained in the Middle East for sharing videos of missile strikes.

During the "Kapihan sa Manila Hotel" forum, DMW Usec. Bernard P. Olalia reported that one OFW was arrested in Saudi Arabia, while two others were previously detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after posting videos of attacks in Iraq.

Olalia assured that while the department respects the legal processes of host countries, it continues to support the detained OFWs. The DMW is providing free legal assistance and has immediately coordinated with the governments of Saudi Arabia and the UAE for communication and support.

Meanwhile, the Philippine government launched its third chartered plane this morning to repatriate Filipinos from the Gulf region. According to DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac, at least 1,000 OFWs are scheduled for repatriation, accompanied by B7-7200 flight personnel, including Undersecretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay and Asec. Venecio Legaspi.
