Three minors were successfully rescued by personnel of the Bontoc Municipal Police Station (MPS) after they were stranded while hiking in Agkuyo, Samoki, Bontoc.

Based on the report, the minors went trekking but ended up in a steep cliff area where they were unable to find their way back. In a moment of distress, one of them was able to contact the police hotline, prompting an immediate response.

Rescue operations were conducted by Bontoc MPS together with criminology interns. The team used rappelling techniques to reach the minors in the dangerous cliff area.

Through swift coordination and action, all three minors were safely brought down with no reported serious injuries.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reminded the public, especially hiking and trekking enthusiasts, to properly plan their trips, bring adequate equipment, and inform family members or local authorities of their destination to prevent similar incidents.
