Authorities arrested three men in Tondo, Manila, for allegedly distributing counterfeit seasoning products after being caught unloading boxes of suspected fake goods in a residential area.

The suspects, identified only by their aliases "Jomar," "Jess," and "Jerico," are all residents of Valenzuela City. Jomar was reportedly the delivery driver, while the two others served as helpers.

The operation stemmed from a tip by a concerned citizen who reported that a closed van was blocking a roadway while unloading an estimated 100 boxes of seasoning granules in front of Building 14 Permanent Housing in Barangay 128.

Personnel from the Manila Police District Raxabago Police Station 1, led by Lt. Col. Ronald De Leon, responded to the scene and apprehended the suspects.

Police said the trio failed to present any documents for the shipment. Upon inspection, authorities determined that the products were counterfeit after comparing them with authentic versions.

Authorities have since coordinated with the legitimate manufacturer of the seasoning products, which is expected to file appropriate charges against the suspects.
