The third impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte has been formally transmitted to the Office of the House Speaker, placing the matter officially under the chamber’s consideration.

House Secretary General Cheloy Garafil confirmed that the complaint, filed by a coalition of civil society leaders, legal practitioners, and religious figures, was endorsed and sent to Speaker Faustino Dy III. The complaint was endorsed by ML Partylist Representative Leila de Lima and cites allegations including betrayal of public trust, culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, and other high crimes.

De Lima said the complaint is backed by documentary evidence, particularly findings from the Commission on Audit (COA), which allegedly show questionable disbursements of millions of pesos in confidential funds within an 11-day period that have yet to be sufficiently explained.

Under the House rules, the complaint is expected to be referred to the Committee on Justice for determination of its sufficiency in form and substance before any further proceedings can take place.

This is the third impeachment complaint filed against the vice president, following earlier filings that also raised concerns over the use of confidential funds.
