Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso announced on Wednesday, December 10, the release of ₱243.4 million in social assistance for persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and senior citizens listed under the DSWD’s social pension program.

The three-day payout began on Thursday, December 11, aiming to ease household expenses and settle the city’s remaining obligations to vulnerable sectors.

In a Facebook Live address, Domagoso said the distribution would run from December 11 to 13, emphasizing: “Claims will be at the barangay starting the date of release… Total amount po na ire-release natin sa loob ng tatlong araw is ₱243,403,500.”

PWDs will receive a ₱500 monthly allowance for July and August 2025, benefiting more than 56,000 individuals. Solo parents will also receive ₱500 per month for the same period, with 30,788 beneficiaries allotted ₱15.5 million. Domagoso addressed them directly, saying, “We are proud of you.”

The largest share, ₱171.975 million, will go to 28,364 DSWD-listed senior citizens. Domagoso said he ordered the immediate release after the national government transmitted the funds, noting its importance as additional support during the holiday season.

Authorized barangay officials—chairpersons, treasurers, or secretaries—are tasked to claim the allocations at designated district venues and bring them to their respective barangays for distribution. Domagoso reiterated, “Ang kukuha po nito… ay yung awtorisado ng barangay… Dadalhin sa kanya-kanyang barangay at doon mismo ibibigay sa inyo.”

The Mayor also reported that Noche Buena food boxes had been delivered to over 400 barangays, along with his personal Christmas gifts for seniors, including cookies, a tumbler, and a pocket-sized medicine organizer meant to help them manage their maintenance medicines.
