Defense panel member Atty. Michael Poa declined further comment on the conjecture that Vice President Sara Duterte was most likely able to contract an assassin given her vast resources.

The lawyer said former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Jaime Santiago’s statement during an earlier interview was merely his opinion on the matter.

“Ah well, that’s his opinion, but that has to be proven in these impeachment proceedings,” he said during a press conference after the sixth day of the impeachment trial.

Speaking to RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, Santiago said on Wednesday afternoon that the NBI’s findings indicate that Vice President Duterte is capable of executing her threat.

“‘Yun ang findings namin, remember na nagtayo ako ng task force para mag-imbestiga dito, at ‘yun ang naging consensus namin, ‘yun ang findings namin talaga. Powerful siya, may pera sila, everything,” he said.
