(Reuters) - Bangkok's governor on Saturday declared Thailand's capital city a disaster-affected zone after residents woke to widespread flooding with some roads inundated, and the prospect of more rain.

• Bangkok has experienced more than 24 hours of continuous rainfall, exceeding 150 mm (5.91 inches) in some parts of the city, with the weather agency forecasting thunder storms and heavy to very heavy rain over the weekend

• The government has issued an emergency advisory for people living near canals to move possessions to higher ground
