Former Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo “Arnie” Teves Jr. and two of his co-accused were allowed by the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 30 to post bail, according to a Friday report.
The three are accused of murder in connection with the death of Pacito Libron in Bayawan City in 2019.
In a 27-page resolution signed by Presiding Judge Ryan Philipp Bartolome, Richard Cuadra and Rolando Pinili were also allowed to post bail. The court set Teves’ bail to ₱50,000 and ₱250,000 each for Cuadra and Pinili, reported RH 29 Boy Gonzales.
Teves and his alleged accomplices were linked to Libron’s death on June 23, 2019. Libron was riding his motorcycle on the National Road and was repeatedly shot. He was supposedly a hitman and bodyguard for Teves prior to his death.
Teves is facing other charges, including the illegal possession of firearms and explosives and the violation of the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Law.
Earlier, Teves was acquitted in a separate murder case after the Manila RTC received his demurrer to evidence.
