A clearer identity is beginning to emerge for the Terrafirma Dyip—and it’s built on balance, poise, and timely runs.
The Dyip stretched their unbeaten start to three games in the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a 99-88 win over the Blackwater Bossing on Wednesday at the Ynares Center.
Terrafirma surged early, erecting a 20-point lead, but what stood out was its response after Blackwater stormed back to within 50-49 at halftime. Instead of unraveling, the Dyip reset and seized control in the third quarter, outscoring the Bossing, 25-17, behind the shotmaking of Jerrick Ahanmisi.
Import Mubashar Ali anchored the effort with 22 points and 23 rebounds, while Paolo Hernandez added 20 in his best outing of the conference. Contributions continued to flow, with Maverick Ahanmisi delivering a key four-pointer that helped put the game out of reach in the fourth.
On the other side, Sedrick Barefield paced Blackwater with 25 points, but the lack of support—especially from import Daniel Ochefu—proved decisive as the Bossing fell to 0-2.
Three games in, Terrafirma’s formula seems to be working—and the results are following.
