Marikina 1st District Representative Marcy Teodoro has filed a perjury complaint against two policewomen who earlier accused him of rape and acts of lasciviousness.
According to RH Edniel Parrosa's report on DZRH, Teodoro personally went to the Office of the City Prosecutor in Manila on Monday, October 13, to lodge the complaint against his former close-in security personnel.
Teodoro’s legal counsel, Atty. Alma Mallonga said that the two policewomen—aged 25 and 28—allegedly admitted that they had no solid evidence to support their accusations.
The congressman’s camp also claimed to have witnesses who could attest that Teodoro was never alone with either of the complainants.
Earlier, the two police officers filed charges of rape and acts of lasciviousness against the lawmaker.
Teodoro, however, denied all allegations, calling them false, malicious, and politically motivated. He described the accusations as part of a “smear campaign” aimed at tarnishing his reputation.
Under Republic Act No. 11594, a public employee found guilty of perjury may face 10 to 12 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to ₱1 million in damages.
Meanwhile, Parrosa earlier reported that the two policewomen have been reassigned to Camp Crame for their protection while the case remains under investigation.
