Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala is back on home soil and will compete in the highly anticipated Philippine Women’s Open (PWO), the tournament organizers confirmed in an online post Wednesday.

“Yes, I will be playing next week. I’m looking forward to it, and I hope people can show up and support the Pinays,” Eala said, confirming her participation in one of the country’s premier sporting events.

The WTA 125 event is set to take place at the newly refurbished Rizal Memorial Tennis Center from January 26 to 31, with qualifying matches for the singles draw scheduled for January 24-25.

Prior to returning home, the 20-year-old athlete made her Australian Open debut, where she bowed out of both her singles and doubles matches, gaining valuable experience on the global stage.

In addition to her PWO appearance, Eala has earned a qualifying wild card for the 2026 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open, a WTA 500 event running from January 31 to February 7, giving her another opportunity to showcase her growing international talent.

According to tournament organizers, standard and premier passes for the semifinals and finals are officially sold out.

Fans can still purchase tickets for the qualifying matches and main draw through SM Tickets online at smtickets.com or at SM Ticket Counters (ticketing charges apply). A limited number of tickets will also be available onsite at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center from January 24 to 31.
