The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) reported continued progress in restoring mobile and internet services in areas affected by Typhoon “Uwan.”
During a briefing with the Malacañang Press Corps, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Atty. Claire Castro said that as of 8:00 a.m., network availability stood at:
-
Smart – 82%
-
Globe – 77%
-
DITO – 63%
-
Converge – 79%
“Restoration efforts are ongoing to ensure communication returns to normal as quickly as possible,” Castro said.
Under Oplan Konektadong Matatag, the DICT, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and telecom providers are coordinating with local government units to maintain uninterrupted service and quickly address remaining connectivity issues.
The program, also known as Digital Bayanihan, reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that Filipinos remain connected nationwide, from Luzon to Mindanao.
