Team Liquid Philippines continued its dominant run in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 17, finishing the first half of the regular season unbeaten after a 2–0 sweep of ONIC Philippines in Week 4, highlighted by a Golden Rivalry Match showdown, as reported by RH James Galangue.

The defending champions improved to a perfect 7–0 record, strengthening their hold on the top of the standings as the league reached its midpoint.

ONIC Philippines came out aggressive in Game 1, trying to disrupt early rotations and target star jungler KarlTzy. However, Team Liquid PH recovered quickly, stabilizing the midgame and taking control through disciplined team fights. Sanford led the charge on Frey, earning Game MVP honors with a 5–2–4 kill-death-assist line.

ONIC admitted breakdowns in communication after building an early advantage.

“Actually po, expected po namin kung paano maglaro yung TLPH… sobrang tibay po nang na-build nilang foundation sa playstyle nila,” said ONIC jungler King Cyric “KingKong” Perez.

Team Liquid PH coach Ong “Aeon” Wei Sheng credited the team’s adaptability against opponents trying to slow their usual aggressive tempo.

“There’s more than one way to win the game…It’s about how many of those we can master,” Aeon said.

In Game 2, Team Liquid PH shifted to a faster pace, with mid laner Sanji orchestrating key setups that overwhelmed ONIC Philippines and sealed the sweep.

Meanwhile, another sweep marked the day as Aurora Gaming PH fell to AP Bren in a closely contested early game that eventually turned one-sided in the mid to late stages.

Despite the loss, AP Bren remains in contention, sitting third from the bottom in the weekly standings but maintaining confidence heading into the second half of the season.

“Meron naman, konti lang… nasanay na ako may pressure,” said AP Bren jungler Jonathan James “Jamespanks” Mendoza.

Fellow teammate Kiel VJ “KIELVJ” Hernandez said the team remains focused on bouncing back. “Mas excited nga po ako lalong bumawi… wala na dapat games na kailangan pa sayangin.”

Aurora Gaming PH coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani emphasized development over standings pressure.

“Ang priority namin is mag-improve and makasabay muna sa kanila… one step at a time kami,” he said.

In the overall standings, Team Falcons sit second at 6–1 after wins over AP Bren on Day 2 and TNC Pro Team on Day 1 of Week 4, trailing only the unbeaten Team Liquid Philippines as the season moves into its second half.
