Taylor Swift’s “Toy Story 5” track broke streaming records on Spotify, just hours after its release!

On Saturday, June 6, Spotify announced that “I Knew It, I Knew You” became the most-streamed country song in a single day by a female artist in the platform’s history. The track is Taylor’s original song for Disney and Pixar’s fifth installment of the “Toy Story” franchise.

In an Instagram post on Friday, June 5, Taylor likened the song to that of a musical departure and coming home at the same time.

“Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond,” she wrote in her post.

Written and produced alongside Jack Antonoff, the “Opalite” singer’s recent song is a major moment for her return to her country song roots. Taylor said that she and Jack wrote the song with “so much adoration” for the characters.

“We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, Apple Music announced that the song also set the all-time record for the biggest soundtrack single by first-day streams. It also became the platform’s biggest country single of the year so far.

Amazon Music said the track had the biggest 24-hour streaming debut globally for any song on the platform in 2026.

“I Knew, I Knew You” will be featured in “Toy Story 5,” which will premiere on June 17.
