Pop megastar Taylor Swift has sent the internet into another frenzy after officially announcing the release of her brand-new single, titled "Patient Zero".

The multi-Grammy winner shared the news on social media alongside the song's official release date:

“I’ve been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single ‘Patient Zero’ will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it’s available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours.”

To mark the announcement, Swift launched a 24-hour exclusive window on her official website offering physical collector CD singles of "Patient Zero," which feature alternate acoustic and piano renditions.

The announcement comes on the heels of another career milestone for the singer-songwriter. CBS and MTV recently announced that Swift will receive the inaugural Artist-Director Honor at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards—a newly created category recognizing musicians whose visionary work behind the camera has significantly shaped music video production and visual storytelling.
