Planning a quick Taipei getaway just got easier for Filipinos!

Taiwan has extended its visa-free entry program for Philippine passport holders for another year, allowing stays of up to 14 days until July 31, 2027.

The extension takes effect Aug. 1, 2026, giving Filipino tourists, families and business travelers continued hassle-free access to one of Asia’s most popular destinations.

The move, confirmed by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, follows a review by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which found the program effective in boosting tourism and strengthening ties with Southeast Asian partners.

For many Filipinos, the perk means spontaneous travel plans remain within reach — from night market food trips in Taipei to scenic escapes in Jiufen and Taichung, all without the need to secure a visa in advance.

The extension is part of Taiwan’s broader New Southbound Policy, aimed at deepening cultural and economic exchanges in the region. Alongside the visa-free program, Taiwan will continue easing travel processes for select Southeast Asian visitors through group tour incentives and simplified entry schemes.

With fewer barriers and more flexibility, the renewed policy is expected to keep Taiwan high on the list of go-to destinations for Filipino travelers seeking short, affordable international trips.
