The Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) has officially confirmed what had long been rumored — veteran tactician Tai Bundit is now the head coach of the Alas Pilipinas Women’s National Team.

In an announcement welcomed by fans and stakeholders alike, the federation expressed its confidence in Bundit’s leadership as he takes the helm of the country’s premier women’s volleyball squad.

Bundit brings with him a wealth of experience both in the collegiate and club ranks, as well as familiarity with the national team program.

He previously served as deputy to coach Roger Gorayeb in 2015, when the Philippine women’s team made its return to international competition after years of absence.

Now stepping into the top post, Bundit will guide a talented Alas core bannered by national team mainstay setter Jia De Guzman, along with rising and established stars Alyssa Solomon, Bella Belen, Eya Laure, Angel Canino, Amie Provido, Dell Palomata, and libero Justine Jazareno.

The seasoned coach is best known for steering the Alyssa Valdez-led Ateneo squad to two historic UAAP championships, helping cement the program’s dominance during his tenure.

He also captured multiple Premier Volleyball League (PVL) titles with Creamline in the league’s pre-professional era, building a reputation for discipline, structured systems, and championship culture.

With Bundit at the forefront, expectations are high for Alas Pilipinas as it eyes stronger campaigns in upcoming regional and international tournaments.
