The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) on Monday revealed that the two high school shooters who opened fire in a classroom at San Jose National High School, Tacloban City apparently shot individuals randomly.
Information Officer PLtCol. Analisa Armeza told DZRH on Balansyado that the two minors or children in conflict with the law (CICLs) shot at individuals randomly during the incident, although authorities have been unable to establish the suspects’ line of thinking.
However, Armeza said that the two were allegedly being bullied, a possible motivation for the crime confirmed by a classmate. The suspects have no record of violations, she earlier told the anchors.
Armeza said a security guard at the school premises saw that one of the suspects carried a sling bag. The other did not enter through the main gate.
Authorities are currently investigating how the 14-year-old suspect obtained his aunt’s 9mm glock—his aunt being a police officer under whose roof he lives.
