A sport utility vehicle (SUV) lost control and struck two parked cars Thursday morning near the San Juan City Cemetery along Bonny Serrano Avenue.

According to a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, the driver of the SUV, identified only as a man who declined to give his name, sustained minor injuries to his lower body and left wrist.

His vehicle, a white Chevrolet Trailblazer, reportedly crossed into another lane, collided with a corner of a store, and knocked down a Meralco utility pole before hitting the two parked vehicles.

A witness said the accident could have been more serious if not for the holiday, noting that the area is usually crowded with pedestrians and riders.

The driver told authorities he was coming from Gilmore, traveling from EDSA toward Eastwood when the incident occurred. His airbags deployed, helping prevent more serious injuries.

The parties involved have already begun discussions regarding compensation for the damaged property near the store. Police are investigating the accident.

No fatalities were reported.
