A man suspected of stealing a motorcycle was arrested during a routine police patrol in Gagalangin, Tondo, early Tuesday morning after officers spotted him pushing what turned out to be a stolen vehicle.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Onyok,” a resident of Caloocan City, was apprehended by personnel of the Gagalangin Police Community Precinct under Raxabago Police Station 1 of the Manila Police District.
According to PCapt. Albert Badiola, precinct chief, officers were conducting regular patrol operations when they noticed the suspect pushing a motorcycle along the street. When questioned, the man reportedly failed to provide proof of ownership, prompting authorities to bring him to the police station for verification and investigation.
During interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to stealing the motorcycle. The vehicle was later identified as a Yamaha Mio Soul owned by Noel Garcia, a resident of Barangay 172, Earnshaw, Gagalangin. Garcia said he only learned that his motorcycle had been stolen after police contacted him about its recovery.
Police are now preparing the appropriate theft charges against the suspect, who remains in custody as further investigation continues.
