A 35-year-old man identified as Alias “Arnie” has voluntarily surrendered to the Rosario Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Batangas in connection with the killing of a woman in Camarines Norte, police confirmed on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

According to a report by Jecelle Ricafort, the suspect turned himself in at around 12:37 a.m. following sustained law enforcement pressure and close coordination among the Camarines Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit, Basud Municipal Police Station, and Rosario MPS, led by Chief of Police PLTCOL Ronie I. Siriban.

Authorities said the suspect is linked to a Death Under Investigation case that occurred on January 2, 2026, in Barangay Pinagwarasan, Basud, Camarines Norte.

The case involved a 38-year-old woman who was found dead inside a plastic storage box beneath a bridge, prompting an intensive investigation and manhunt.

Police later traced the suspect to Barangay Poblacion B in Rosario, Batangas. Facing mounting investigative pressure, the suspect, who works as a security guard based in Cabuyao City, Laguna, decided to surrender peacefully.

Upon surrender, the suspect was secured and informed of his constitutional rights. After proper documentation, he was turned over to the Cabuyao Component City Police Station for custody and the filing of appropriate criminal charges, under the supervision of PCPT Mark Anthony C. Armea, Assistant Chief of Police.

PLTCOL Siriban said the surrender highlights strong inter-agency coordination and the growing trust between the police and the community, stressing that authorities remain committed to ensuring justice for the victim and her family.
