Authorities arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in Plaridel, Bulacan, less than 24 hours after the incident.

According to PNP Plaridel, Lt. Col. Ragono, together with Brig. Gen. Rogelio Peñones Jr., the suspect, was apprehended through a joint operation by intelligence and operating units from PNP Plaridel and Cabanatuan City. The arrest took place at a hotel where the suspect had checked in at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Recovered from the suspect were a .45 caliber firearm* and a vehicle believed to have been used in the crime.

Authorities are investigating a love triangle as a possible motive for the shooting that occurred on New Year’s Day. The suspect has already been charged with appropriate charges in connection with the killing.
