Malacañang on Friday expressed surprise over the latest survey results released by Social Weather Stations (SWS), which showed that Vice President Sara Duterte garnered a higher satisfaction rating than President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. in the fourth quarter of 2025.

According to the SWS survey conducted from November 23 to 30, 2025, 54 percent of respondents expressed satisfaction with Duterte’s performance, while only 40 percent were satisfied with Marcos’ performance.

The survey, which polled 1,200 respondents nationwide, highlights a notable gap between the public’s approval of the Vice President and the President.

During a press conference, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro said the Palace could not understand where the Vice President’s higher rating came from, stressing that the President continues to fulfill his duties while others are allegedly not performing their responsibilities.

She added that survey numbers do not measure success and should not be used to shape public perception.

Castro also questioned the basis of the survey results, suggesting that ratings should not be used to mislead the public about who is actually working for the country.
