

A 49-year-old surfing instructor was stabbed and injured in a broad daylight attack in Barangay Sulangan, Guiuan, Eastern Samar on Tuesday, according to police.
The victim, identified by authorities as alias “Ceasar,” was riding a single motorcycle around 12:30 p.m. when he was allegedly followed by the suspect, alias “Leo,” 57, a construction worker and fellow barangay resident. Police said a verbal altercation ensued after the suspect shouted at the victim, prompting the latter to respond, which led to the attack.
Investigators said the suspect pulled out a screwdriver and stabbed the victim three times, hitting different parts of his body. The victim was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment and is currently recovering.
The suspect was immediately arrested by responding police officers and is now in custody, facing appropriate charges. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
