The Supreme Court (SC) announced that it will designate special courts to exclusively hear and decide corruption-related cases involving anomalous infrastructure projects, once such cases are filed.
In a move aimed at ensuring a faster, fairer, and more efficient justice system, the SC En Banc directed the Office of the Court Administrator (OCA) to closely monitor the filing of corruption cases linked to infrastructure projects before the Regional Trial Courts (RTCs).
“The SC En Banc has directed the OCA to monitor the filing of cases involving corruption in infrastructure projects before the Regional Trial Courts,” the Court said in a statement.
“Once such cases are filed, the SC will designate special courts to exclusively hear and decide corruption-related cases arising from infrastructure projects,” it added.
According to the Court, the creation of these special courts underscores its commitment to uphold integrity and accountability in public service, particularly in the implementation of government infrastructure projects.
