

The super typhoon with the international name “Sinlaku” has weakened into a typhoon as of Wednesday, April 15.
Based on PAGASA’s 3 a.m. monitoring, the typhoon was located 2,550 km east of Central Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 215 km/h. It is moving northwestward at 10 km/h. If the weather system enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), it will be named “Caloy.” For the forecast weather conditions, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA said a ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over Northern Luzon.
