Several students at San Francisco High School in Brgy. Santo Cristo, Quezon City used their covered court as temporary classrooms on the first day of classes after a fire hit 20 classrooms on Sunday.
According to Val Gonzales' report on Dos Por Dos, 16 sections were affected by the fire — 8 in the morning shift and 8 in the afternoon — according to Dr. Carleen Sedilla, the Schools Division Superintendent.
Gonzales reported that more than 300 students in the morning session are currently using the covered court. Based on their orientation, they will temporarily use another building starting tomorrow, which was originally intended for other purposes.
There are approximately 6,000 to 7,000 enrollees at San Francisco High School for School Year 2025–2026, according to Sedilla.
On Sunday, two floors of the school's central building were engulfed by fire, affecting 20 classrooms used by Grades 9 and 10.
