Stray Kids member Lee Min-Ho, known by his stage name Lee Know, is set to begin his mandatory military service in the first quarter of 2027, JYP Entertainment announced.
In a statement released Friday, November 5, the talent agency expressed gratitude to all STAY, the K-pop boy group’s fans, for their unwavering love and support since Stray Kids’ debut.
The agency clarified that Lee Know may be unable to participate in some of the activities scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
“However, prior to his enlistment, he will continue to connect with STAY through various content and individual activities,” the agency assured.
“We understand that this news may come as a surprise to many STAY, and we appreciate your kind understanding. Additional details that cannot be shared at this time will be announced separately when they become available,” it added.
Lee Know is the first member of the eight-piece group to enlist in the military.
Under the Military Service Act of South Korean law, military service is required for all able-bodied male citizens. Men typically undergo preliminary registration and a draft physical examination to determine their physical grade.
They are required to complete at least 18 months of service before reaching the age of 30.
Stray Kids debuted in 2018 under JYP Entertainment. The group's members are Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N.
