The San Antonio Spurs weathered a furious New York comeback and delivered in the closing minutes to secure a 115–111 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Tuesday (PH time), trimming the series deficit to 2–1.

After a blistering start, the Spurs leaned on composure and star power down the stretch, with Victor Wembanyama leading the charge in a historic performance at Madison Square Garden.

San Antonio came out firing in the opening quarter, pouring in 33 points to seize early control as New York struggled to match their pace. But the Knicks responded emphatically in the second period, flipping the game with a dominant surge to take a 64–57 halftime lead.

Momentum swung again in the third quarter as the Spurs clawed back behind timely scoring and defensive stops, edging ahead 92–91 entering the final frame of a tightly contested game.

The fourth quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle, but San Antonio executed better in the closing minutes. Key baskets and defensive stands allowed the Spurs to hold off a late Knicks push and seal the four-point win.

Wembanyama delivered a standout Finals performance, recording over 30 points along with at least five rebounds and five assists — the first opposing player to reach those marks in a Finals game at Madison Square Garden.

Stephon Castle provided crucial support for San Antonio with 23 points, five rebounds and five assists, including two 3-pointers.

Jalen Brunson led New York with 32 points, five rebounds and five assists, keeping the Knicks within striking distance throughout the contest.

Despite the loss, New York still holds a 2–1 advantage in the best-of-seven series as the Finals continue.

Game 4 is set to follow, with the Spurs aiming to even the series and the Knicks looking to regain control.
