MANILA, Philippines – The Singaporean government deployed a military aircraft tasked to bring home its nationals stranded in the Middle East, together with 24 Filipinos and other nationals, the Embassy of Singapore in the Philippines said.
The flight landed in Singapore on Friday, 13 March 2026 at 5:59am, Singapore’s Ambassador to the Philippines Constance See confirmed.
“Singapore deployed an RSAF A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport aircraft on 12 March to bring Singaporeans home safely from Jeddah. After prioritising Singaporeans and their families, we were glad that available seats could be extended to nationals from other countries, including 24 Filipinos,” Ambassador See said.
According to See, the Embassy of Singapore in Manila has been closely coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah to facilitate the Filipinos who joined the flight.
“The Philippine government, through the DFA and its missions, has been mounting complex repatriation efforts to bring Filipinos home safely. Our flight complements those efforts,” Ambassador See said.
Aside from Singaporean nationals and Filipinos on the flight, individuals from Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam were also accommodated.
“This is really ASEAN solidarity in action, neighbours helping neighbours in difficult moments. Our ASEAN neighbours have assisted Singaporeans in returning home in past crises,” See explained.
“Singapore and the Philippines are close friends, and we were very glad to help these Filipinos begin their journey home. At the end of the day, what matters most is that people return safely to their families,” she added.
