The Special Investigation Team of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) is examining all angles in the death of Dueñas Vice Mayor Aimee Paz Lamasan, after accidental firing while in her home at Barangay Tabuc Suba, La Paz, in Iloilo City.

Authorities are working to determine whether foul play was involved in the incident that claimed the life of the vice mayor, according to Aksyon Radyo Iloilo reporter Jocelyn Maque.

ICPO Director Police Colonel Kim Legada emphasized the importance of establishing the exact circumstances surrounding Lamasan’s death.

As part of the investigation, authorities have requested Lamasan’s live-in partner, Lord Byron Torrecarion, who is employed at the Land Transportation Office (LTO), to undergo a paraffin test, subject to his consent.

Torrecarion was present at the scene when Lamasan was accidentally shot and later turned over the firearm to police.

The investigation continues as police collect evidence and interview witnesses to determine the sequence of events leading to the tragic incident.
