House Speaker Faustino "Bojie" Dy III on Friday joined the country in marking Labor Day, paying tribute to Filipino workers both in the country and overseas and vowing continued legislative support for their welfare.
In a statement for the holiday observance, Dy said Filipino workers remain central to the country’s economic progress and national development.
You are the true lifeblood of our nation.”
He also recognized the sacrifices of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), as well as those employed locally across various industries and sectors.
Dy acknowledged continuing challenges faced by workers, including wages, benefits, job security and working conditions, saying these remain key concerns that must be addressed.
The House Speaker said Congress remains committed to advancing measures that strengthen workers’ protection and expand opportunities.
He ended his message with a salute to Filipino workers, calling them essential to keeping the nation moving forward.
