Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III is content with the approved 2026 national budget at the conclusion of the bicameral conference committee sessions.
The approval of next year’s budget, he said, set the standard for future budget deliberations, which upholds transparency and accountability, as reported by RH 28 Raymund Dadpaas.
Aside from the deliberations having been live-streamed, many reforms to the ₱6.793 trillion budget were implemented by both the Senate and House of Representatives, the senator said.
On Monday, the Senate will modify its calendar to accommodate the December 29 ratification of the enrolled budget, as the printing of this General Appropriations Bill (GAB) will last an entire week.
The Senate approved their version of the budget on its third and final reading on December 9, while the House approved theirs on October 14.
