KATSEYE leader Sophia Laforteza will sit out the group’s European and UK leg of its “The Wildworld Tour” this September as she focuses on her health and well-being.
In a Weverse announcement, HYBE x Geffen (HxG) said that Laforteza will miss the sold-out European and UK leg of the tour, which is scheduled to run from September 1 to 17.
“Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed. Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17,” the company said.
“We sincerely ask for EYEKONS’ warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists,” it added.
The company said it would provide further updates when available and urged fans to continue supporting Laforteza and KATSEYE.
Laforteza also addressed fans in an Instagram Story, expressing her disappointment at missing the tour while emphasizing the importance of prioritizing her health and mental well-being.
“I can't express enough how much I want to participate in this tour and perform for you all,” Laforteza said.
“I have to remind myself every day that our health and mental well-being should always be prioritized. When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me.”
Laforteza said she has been undergoing treatment and doing what she can to stay healthy, occupied and happy.
“You can't pour from an empty cup. It's important to care for yourself,” she added.
The KATSEYE leader also thanked the company, her fellow members and those around her for their continued love and support as she works toward recovery.
“I can't wait until I return and share the stage with my sisters again,” she said, assuring fans that the remaining members would deliver an extraordinary performance.
Laforteza’s hiatus was first announced on August 7, 2026, as she took time to prioritize her health.
She is the second KATSEYE member to take a temporary hiatus for mental health and wellness reasons. Manon Bannerman’s hiatus was announced through Weverse on February 20.
