A 25-year-old man died after he was accidentally shot by his own father in Alimodian, Iloilo.

According to a report by Aksyon Radyo’s Jocelyn Maque, an investigation by the Alimodian Police showed that the 61-year-old father went home drunk, accompanied by a friend. However, an argument broke out between them, which eventually escalated into a fistfight.

The suspect then went inside the house to get a firearm. His son saw this and followed him, attempting to stop his father. However, the suspect accidentally pulled the trigger of the homemade 12-gauge shotgun, hitting his son in the stomach.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities said the father is currently facing criminal charges.
