Police are investigating whether some of the 51 individuals arrested during protests of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday are connected to the violence that erupted during the Sept. 21, 2025 rally.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Major General Anthony Aberin said authorities have obtained the identities and photographs of those arrested and are comparing them with individuals believed to have been involved in last year's unrest, according to a report by RH Edniel Parrosa.

"Isa sa tinitingnan natin ‘yung the mere fact na nakuha po natin ‘yung identity at saka yung mga mukha nila. Ikocompare po natin ‘yung personalidad po ng…kaguluhan nong Sept. 21, 2025," Aberin said.

According to the NCRPO chief, investigators are also examining similarities in the appearance and attire of some of those arrested, including the use of black clothing and balaclavas to conceal their faces.

Most of those arrested were members of the group Vandals United, who were apprehended by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for allegedly spray-painting the wall of an electric distribution utility company, Meralco during the SONA protests.
