A 37-year-old solar panel installer died of electrocution after an attempt to repair a ruptured power line in Basista, Pangasinan.

According to Basista Chief of Police PMaj. Dexter Tayaba, the incident occurred along Cadena de Amor Street, Barangay Obong past 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, reported RH 38 Freddie Fajardo of Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan on Thursday.

The investigation found that the victim was installing a solar panel when an electrical fault caused sparks to erupt from a power line, triggering a fire that was quickly extinguished.

Afterwards, the victim re-connected the line, but was electrocuted. His colleague immediately rushed him to a private hospital in Bayambang.

However, he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
