Tropical Depression Mirasol has prompted the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) to raise Signal No. 1 over 16 areas in Luzon, the state weather bureau announced on Tuesday, September 16.

As of 4:00 p.m., the tropical depression was located 210 kilometers east northeast of Infanta, Quezon. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts of up to 70 km/h.

Mirasol is moving northwest at 25 km/h, with strong winds extending up to 180 kilometers from its center.

PAGASA posted that the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 is currently in effect over several areas, bringing the threat of strong winds within the next 36 hours, which speeds may range from 39 to 61 km/h, that could cause minimal to minor damage to life and property.
