The iconic Original Pilipino Music pop-rock band SHAMROCK opened up about how their music continues to resonate across generations, allowing their legacy to grow even after many years in the industry.
In an exclusive interview with Showbiz Angel on Scene Zone, the band was asked about the key reasons behind the enduring success of their songs.
During the discussion, drummer Harald jokingly credited their longtime hits to bassist Sam’s love life, saying it is something “that seems to transcend time and even generations, [it is] timeless.” Guitarist Nico, meanwhile, pointed out that authenticity plays a major role in their music’s longevity.
The band also shared their thoughts on how they have managed to stay relevant up to this day.
Nico emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself, saying, “Just be us, do your best ganon lang, tapos let the people decide– or let– you know hayaan mo nang kung ano man ang maiwan sa ano [listeners]. Di mo na kailangang pilitin, ‘gusto ko makilala ako sa ganito,’ just do your job and everything will take care of itself.”
Vocalist Bradley echoed this mindset, warning against prioritizing money over passion. He said, “Kasi iba iniisip, ‘gagawin ko toh kasi yayaman ako dyan,’ you know which is a no no– it's a wrong mindset. You focus on the art, and perfect your art, learn about the art, tapos you know, money will follow. Kung hindi man, at least you have your art to leave.”
Reflecting their continued popularity, SHAMROCK wrapped up the year strong on Spotify, amassing 6.8 million listeners and 35.4 million streams on the platform.
