The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced on Friday that several elevators and escalators at Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) stations have been temporarily taken out of service due to ongoing heavy rainfall.

According to a DOTr-MRT-3 advisory, the affected facilities include the northbound and southbound elevators and escalator at GMA Kamuning Station, Buendia Station, and Magallanes Station.

Meanwhile, only the northbound and southbound elevators are unavailable at Guadalupe Station and Boni Station. The northbound and southbound escalators at Shaw Boulevard Station are also temporarily out of service.

The MRT-3 management advised passengers to exercise extra caution while moving through the affected stations, particularly when using stairways and other station facilities.

The transport agency said the temporary shutdowns were implemented due to the ongoing heavy rains and apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters.

MRT-3 has yet to announce when the affected elevators and escalators will resume normal operations. Passengers are encouraged to monitor official DOTr-MRT-3 advisories for further updates.
