The Department of Energy (DOE) has reminded the public that senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are entitled to a discount on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) products.
In a statement, the DOE said that under a joint administrative order issued by the agency together with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Agriculture (DA), qualified senior citizens and PWDs may avail of a five-percent discount on their LPG purchases.
The discount applies to LPG purchases of up to 11 kilograms and may be availed of once every five months, the agency clarified.
Meanwhile, the DOE is seeking public comments on a proposed update to the Philippine National Standard for LPG refilling plants.
The agency said the proposed update aims to ensure that standards for LPG refilling facilities remain compliant and aligned with national regulations, international codes, and prevailing industry practices.
