

A 61-year-old man, identified by the alias "Waki," was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Olympia, Makati City on Monday evening, June 2.
In a report by RH Noche Cacas, the arrest was conducted by the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) at 11:55 p.m..
Southern Police District (SPD) headquarters said that the suspect, a considered a high-value individual (HVI) in the city's drug watchlist, was caught red-handed after selling illegal drugs to a police operative who posed as a buyer.
Authorities said the suspect met with the undercover officer. After the exchange of money and drugs, police officers immediately arrested the suspect.
Seized from the suspect were approximately 67 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, with an estimated street value of P455,600. The illegal drugs were reportedly stored inside a sling bag the suspect was carrying.
Police also recovered the marked buy-bust money used in the operation.
SPD Director Brigadier General Joseph Arguelles reiterated the SPD's commitment to eliminating illegal drugs from the streets and ensuring the safety of communities.
"This arrest is a result of the continuing intensified operations of Makati Police against illegal drugs. We are committed to taking high-value targets off our streets and ensuring the safety of our communities" said Arguelles.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
