Public trust and satisfaction in the Philippine Senate declined in the second quarter of 2026, while ratings for the House of Representatives improved, according to the latest OCTA Research Tugon ng Masa survey.

The survey, conducted in July, showed that trust in the Senate fell to 41% from 44% in the first quarter. Distrust rose to 27% from 24%.

Satisfaction with the Senate's performance also dropped to 38% from 42%, while dissatisfaction increased to 32% from 27%.

In contrast, public sentiment toward the House improved during the same period.

Trust in the House rose to 38% from 36%, while distrust declined to 28% from 33%.

Satisfaction with the House's performance increased to 37% from 35%, while dissatisfaction fell to 32% from 35%.

Despite the changes, OCTA said public opinion toward both chambers remained mixed, with significant portions of respondents undecided about their level of trust and satisfaction.

Nationwide, 41% of adult Filipinos said they trust the Senate, while 27% said they distrust it and 32% were undecided.

On the Senate's performance, 38% said they were satisfied, 32% were dissatisfied and 30% were undecided.

For the House, 38% expressed trust, 28% distrust and 33% were undecided.

Meanwhile, 37% of respondents were satisfied with the House's performance, 32% were dissatisfied and 31% were undecided.
