The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is set to summon 19 members of the House of Representatives, including former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Congressman Eric Yap, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the flood control scandal, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson confirmed on Tuesday.

The move underscores the Senate’s continuing efforts to hold public officials accountable for alleged irregularities in flood control projects. The list of lawmakers to be summoned follows disclosures made earlier by witnesses during hearings.

“After the election this afternoon, we'll buckle down to work. This includes the submission of evidence through the office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as well as inviting the 17 congressmen mentioned by the Discaya couple, including Congressman Eric Yap,” Lacson said.

The aforementioned summonses will be issued through the Speaker’s office. Meanwhile, the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing will proceed on Friday, November 14, during which Senator Lacson will present his 'Very Important Witness' in connection with the Flood Control Project anomaly.
