The Senate will shift to a work-from-home setup on Monday, August 10, with no plenary session or impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte scheduled for the day amid heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.

Following the issuance of Memorandum Circular No. 123 by the Office of the President and amid projected heavy rainfall in Metro Manila, Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian authorized all Senate officials and employees to work from home, according to Senate Secretary Renato Bantug.

The Senate will be under WFH arrangement today. No trial and session as well,” Gatchalian said early Monday in a social media post.

The Senate is expected to resume its regular session and the impeachment trial on Tuesday, August 11.
