Sen. Erwin Tulfo said the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee will next investigate allegedly substandard infrastructure projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), following ongoing scrutiny over flood control programs.
Tulfo, who chairs the panel, said the probe will focus on poorly constructed bridges, roads and other public works that easily deteriorate, especially during successive storms and heavy rainfall.
He noted that the premature damage of such projects indicates possible anomalies and failure to meet proper standards, citing as an example the collapse of a large retaining wall along EDSA–Ayala northbound in Makati City.
