Malacañang said on Tuesday that it sees no cause for alarm amid rumors of another possible leadership change in the Senate.

In a press briefing on Tuesday, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro assured the public that the situation in the upper chamber remains "not alarming" despite reports of a potential shift in Senate leadership.

May freedom of expression sila" Castro said. "May democracy sila sa loob ng Senado. Hindi naman po siya alarming."

Castro added that regardless of any possible change in leadership, the Palace trusts that senators will continue to act in the interest of the Filipino people.

Castro added that the Palace did not see any problem arising from the possible leadership change.

Earlier, Senate President Tito Sotto denied rumors of an impending 'Senate coup,' expressing confidence in the continued support of the majority bloc.
