The Senate impeachment court will issue a new subpoena requiring Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte to appear as a witness in Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, with his testimony now expected to take place from September 28 to 30.

Baste was initially scheduled to testify on September 23, but the impeachment court is adjusting its witness calendar and proceedings, prompting the issuance of a new subpoena.

The prosecution has said Baste is being called to testify on matters involving government transactions with companies allegedly linked to Vice President Duterte.

His scheduled appearance is part of the prosecution’s presentation of evidence in the impeachment case, particularly its allegations involving the vice president's business interests and transactions.

The new subpoena will formally direct Baste to appear before the Senate impeachment court during the revised September 28 to 30 schedule.
